Stichting CITRO-Bonaire is a maritime rescue organization consisting of volunteers, with the aim of being available day and night to help people in distress at sea and along the coast of Bonaire.

Job Description The support coordinator functions under the director and works closely within the operational committee. Within the operational committee, the support coordinator is responsible for all supporting tasks, such as donor and sponsor recruitment, information campaigns, and organizing events, both internally and externally. The needs of the support team are brought forward by the support coordinator during the operational committee meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with the support team to discuss operational matters and new developments.
  • Meets at least once a month with the operational committee members to discuss and organize operational matters.
  • Monitors activities and identifies bottlenecks.
  • Is aware of CITRO’s policies and guidelines and ensures compliance.
  • Ensures the creation of an annual event planning, for both external and internal events.
  • Organizes and coordinates events (e.g., volunteer days, fundraising, information campaigns, anniversaries, World Drowning Prevention Day, etc.).
  • Provides correct information dissemination within and outside CITRO.
  • Ensures the quality of work performed within the support team.
  • Supports the director in recruiting CITRO volunteers for the support team.
  • Ensures that the support team has relevant information for carrying out their tasks.
  • Prepares an action report.

Skills

  • You have organizational talent and easily maintain an overview.
  • You can set priorities, lead volunteers, consult, solve problems, motivate, delegate, and stimulate team building. Additionally, you can deal with different types of people, listen, conduct both individual and group conversations, handle resistance and criticism.
  • You are able to follow instructions and/or requests.
  • You have a first aid diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • You are proficient with computers.
  • You can handle confidential information.

Availability

  • Flexible days and times.
  • Minimum 2 hours per month

There is no compensation available for this volunteer role.
